Coming into a new environment with new rules and policies can be very daunting so please read the following information carefully so that you have a smooth transition into the Trust.

Please ensure that you contact your placement two weeks before you are due to start with any concerns, off duty requests or transport difficulties.

Please consider your Professional behaviour whilst in placement and remember that the NMC Code of Conduct (or professional equivalent) relates to you also.

Although you are supernumerary (not in the Team numbers) you are still expected to be:

  • Punctual for your shift.
  • Report Sickness by phoning and emailing the ward.
  • Contacting the university know via approved sickness email.
  • Maintain the Confidentiality of patients.
  • Communicate any concerns you have regarding patient and staff safety.

Please ensure you give your Practice Assessor and supervisor’s access to your portfolio at the beginning of your placement so feedback can be written in without delay. Delayed access may create difficulty opening your next placement in the portfolio.

Finally, please ensure that you check your university email on a regular basis. Important information regarding skills training, Chill and chat sessions and other opportunities will be sent via your university email address.
