COVID-19 and Stroke Services

Please note that there may be changes to teams and visiting due to COVID.

The Stroke Service at Ashford St Peter’s Hospital is committed to providing the best treatment and care possible to its stroke patients.

This includes a 24 hours, 7 days a week thrombolysis service where clot busting drugs are administered within 4.5 hours of the onset of stroke symptoms to break down blood clots if appropriate.

All stroke patients are admitted to the Stroke Unit for evaluation by a team of multi-disciplinary specialists including Consultant Stroke Physicians, Specialist Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Dietitians and Clinical Neuropsychologists.
