Rishi Sunak visits Woking Community Hospital

The Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak visited Woking Community Hospital on Thursday 11 April 2024 with Woking MP, Jonathan Lord, to meet with staff and learn more about the Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) which is due to be fully operational later this year. During the visit, the Prime Minister spoke with Project Director, Stephen Hepworth and Medical Director, Dr David Fluck along with other colleagues about the plans for the development and the difference it will make for the residents of North West Surrey. The Woking CDC is a key development and will offer additional capacity for diagnostic testing such as x-rays ultrasounds, cardiac and respiratory testing, and will help to reduce waiting times for patients. The Woking Centre is part of the wider CDC plans across the Surrey Heartlands health and care system. It is being developed by the Trust, working in close collaboration with CSH Surrey, primary care, Alliance Medical Ltd and partners operating out of Woking Community Hospital.

Tree Planting Ceremony

St Peter’s Hospital welcomed National charity Doctors in Distress for a tree planting ceremony last month. The planting was to remember healthcare workers across the country who have taken their own lives. Dr David Fluck, Medical Director at Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals said: “The health and wellbeing of our team is of utmost importance and this tree signifies our duty of care for the mental health of our staff and remembering those who have lost their lives.” Doctors in Distress provides peer support for all UK based healthcare workers to promote and protect their mental health and prevent suicide.
