Two members of our surgical team in an operating theatre

In the face of increasing demand and many challenges, such as unprecedented numbers of patients waiting for elective procedures across the NHS, and repeated industrial action from several professional disciplines, balanced against financial constraints, our NHS Trust remains committed to its mission to provide compassionate, person-centred care to all members of our community.

This past year has been marked by resilience, innovation, celebration, and unwavering staff dedication as the Trust navigated the complexities of healthcare delivery in a rapidly changing landscape. We remain focussed on reaching our vision of providing an ‘outstanding experience and the best outcome for patients and our team.’

Our quality of care strategic objective ‘Grow and develop as a place of learning, underpinned by a culture and mindset of continuous improvement that reduces harm and improves patient care and experience’ reflects our uncompromising commitment to delivering exceptional care and continuously improving the quality of our services.

You will find a comprehensive overview of our achievements, challenges, and aspirations in our 2023/24 Quality Report, from national and local initiatives enhancing patient safety by significantly reducing waiting times and improvements delivered in our Maternity Services following our Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection last January 2023.

Our overall performance is available in our latest Quality Report.
