Paediatric Outpatient Clinics

Specialist clinics in conjunction with consultants are run for allergy, cystic fibrosis, diabetes, and gastroenterology. In addition, the paediatric dietitians run their own clinics for children under the age of 18 who are referred by either their GP or paediatrician. We offer a mix of video, telephone, and face to face appointments.

We accept referrals for the following:

  • Food allergy (IgE and non-IgE)
  • Coeliac disease
  • Inflammatory bowel disease
  • Faltering growth
  • Tube feeding, including NG/NJ or gastrostomy feeding

For other outpatient referrals please refer to the relevant resources as listed below:

How to prepare for your outpatient virtual appointment

  • Check the date and time for the appointment
  • Ensure you have good signal for telephone appointment
  • The video appointment can be accessed https://nhs.vc/paediatricdietitians and please log into the waiting room 10 minutes prior the appointment
  • You will need to find a quiet place so you can hear the Dietitian clearly. It is recommended you do not attend the appointment in a public place.
  • Please ensure that your equipment is fully charged or is plugged into an electricity point
  • Using Wi-Fi connection rather than a mobile phone data connection is more likely to give you a better-quality call
  • Ensure you have an updated weight and height within two weeks of the appointment date
