Sue Tranka

Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to announce that our Interim Chief Nurse Sue Tranka has now been substantively appointed to the position of Chief Nurse.

Chief Executive Suzanne Rankin said: “Sue originally joined us six months ago as our Interim Chief Nurse following a competitive appointment process, as would usually be followed when appointing a board director. Since her appointment Sue has demonstrated strong leadership and expertise in her role. The Board’s Nomination Committee unanimously agreed Sue had fulfilled all the necessary criteria for her substantive appointment and have been impressed by her expertise and knowledge.

“Sue is a great fit for the role and has already done much to engender team working, align the functions of quality assurance and quality improvement in order to achieve our objective of becoming a learning organisation, aligned the quality priorities in order to support delivery of the new Trust strategy and together with David, our Medical Director, is redesigning delivery of the education strategy across our multi-professional teams.

“I am sure you will join me in congratulating Sue on her appointment and I look forward to continuing to work with her to lead and inspire our nursing directorate.

Sue Tranka added: “I have been made to feel very welcome at ASPH during the interim period and I look forward to continuing the work I have started with the teams aiming at delivering high quality care for local people. I have been struck by the commitment of our staff and their passion for patient centred care and quality improvement, it serves as a constant reminder that we are working together in achieving our vision.’

‘I am indeed delighted to be substantively appointed and I am passionate about working with key partners to transform and improve services. It is a privilege to work for the Trust and be part of an organisation that continuously works towards outstanding quality services for its patients, supports and develops its workforce and drives innovation.’
