Gillian joined the R and D team as a Senior Research Sister (Neurology) in October 2013. Her experience as a Parkinson's disease specialist nurse and research nurse spans 23 years. She led the multidisciplinary team on the SPIRiTT project (Parkinson's Rehabilitation) at The University of Surrey in 2010 and is currently undertaking a doctorate there. Her specialist research area is self-management in PD.

Gillian is responsible for Parkinson's disease clinical trials within the Trust and has expanded her expertise in neurology with the completion of two multiple sclerosis studies. She is also the co-author of several Parkinson's publications in peer- reviewed journals and is an expert reviewer for Parkinson's UK publications.

Gillian is a keen Nordic walker and in 2016 completed a 3 day trek around Mont Blanc raising £2000 for Parkinson’s UK.
