Special celebrations took place this week on a ward at St. Peter’s Hospital for a patient’s 100th birthday. Trust Chairman Aileen McLeish presented a cake to Mabel Reeves, a patient on Swan orthopaedic ward, to celebrate her landmark birthday. Aileen McLeish said: “I am delighted to meet Mrs Reeves and to have the privilege of sharing this very special day of celebration with her while we are caring for her at St. Peter’s Hospital. We wish her a speedy recovery.” (L to R): Patient Mabel Reeves with Trust Chairman Aileen McLeish and staff from Swan ward: Helen Haylor, Ann Hemphill and bottom row, Donald Calubayan and Monica Thompson. Mrs Reeves commented: “What a lovely surprise to be given a birthday cake while I’m in hospital. I don’t know what the secret is to a long life but I don’t let things worry me and I do like my food!” Mabel Reeves is from Hersham and is well on her way to recovery. |
