Accessible Information Standard (AIS)
AIS states that there is a legal requirement for patients, service users, carers, and parents with a disability, impairment or sensory loss to receive accessible information and that they should:
Be able to contact, and be contacted by services in accessible ways, e.g. via email.
Receive information and correspondence in formats they can read and understand, e.g. in audio, braille, easy read or large print.
Be supported by a communication professional at appointments if this is needed to support conversation, e.g. a British Sign Language interpreter.
Get support from health and care staff and organisations to communicate, e.g. to lip-read or use a hearing aid.

Recite Me - Web Accessibility and Language Toolbar
We’re pleased to share that as part of the Accessible Information Standard (AIS), we have added the Recite me web accessibility and language toolbar to our website to help make the content accessible and inclusive for as many people as possible. This is done by using innovative technology that makes our site more accessible via a unique range of features on all devices.
