Birth Preparation Class

Our birth preparation class is a one-off two and a half hour session on either a Saturday morning or Monday night at St Peter's Hospital, Chertsey.

The class covers early labour at home, when to come into hospital, the different stages of labour, and ways of coping with labour including pain relief options, positions and massage.

The class is for first time mums-to-be and their birth partners only (no children please), and women who have had a previous Caesarean Section and planning a vaginal delivery (VBAC) this time round.

Physical Skills for Pregnancy and Labour

This session is for first time mums only between 12-30 weeks.

This physiotherapist led session will cover discomforts in pregnancy, pelvic floor, back care and coping skills for labour including breathing and relaxation.

Multiple Birth Classes

We provide three evening sessions for women and their partners lasting two hours each, held at St Peter's Hospital. This session also includes a tour of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). You will be invited by our specialist midwife to attend this class once you have met with your consultant.


Dads to Be Classes

Please note that there will not be a class on 31st December 2019.

These sessions are for Dads to be only and are held the last Tuesday evening of every month from 7.30pm to 9.30pm Parent Education Room, ground Floor, Abbey Wing St Peter’s.

Just turn up ... there’s no need to book!


Responsive Infant Feeding Workshop

This half-day session is for women and their partners if they are able to attend. (If your partner is attending, please register for 2 tickets)

The best time to book is around 30 - 33 weeks pregnant (preferably before 34 weeks)

The workshop is led by Midwives from our infant feeding team and will aim to provide you with up to date, evidence based information about feeding your baby. During the class she will discuss relationship building and the part breastfeeding plays in this; the importance of establishing the foundations of health and how colostrum, milk and breastfeeding can support this. Correct positioning and attachment as well as practical support is also covered.

The sessions are held on a Thursday from 9.30am-12.30pm in the Parent Education Room on the Ground Floor of Abbey Wing at St Peter’s Hospital.

Midwife Led Hypnobirth

Hypnobirthing uses antenatal education, self-hypnosis, relaxation, massage and breathing techniques to help release any fear or tension you may have around birthing your baby.

The course costs £150 per couple, reservation is Free on Eventbrite and payment should be made over the telephone to our cashier’s office once you have reserved your place. Further details will be emailed at the time of reservation.
