At the beginning of February, Radio Wey, based at St Peter’s Hospital in Chertsey, was shortlisted in no less than five categories in the national Hospital Broadcasting Association’s Radio Awards. There are ten entries in each shortlist and only one more station in the whole of the UK succeeding in getting more entries than Radio Wey onto the shortlists. The five shortlisted entries are in the following categories:
And all the entries can be heard at www.radiowey.co.uk. This is good news for the station and maintains their excellent record in these awards. Last year, the Blues Session was on the shortlist for the best specialist music category and in 2010, they won Gold, Silver and Commended awards in three categories. Andy Brown, Chairman at the station said, “We are absolutely thrilled with getting five of our eleven entries shortlisted. This is one of our best results ever and we are looking forward to the awards ceremony at the end of March where we hope to come away with at least one of the top awards. ” |
